The Golden Planet Project is a Community Interest Company set up by people with learning disabilities to provide unique employment opportunities for this group of people through the development and provision of a Community Café, a calendar of Social Events and an on-line shop.
The Community Café will be the setting for people in receipt of social care services to socialize and access informal support networks, access benefit advice and information about other services, organizations and support available to people. During the day there will be workshops, advocacy groups and training events people can access as an alternative to College. In the evening the community Café will become a social club for this group of people.
Reclaim is the name of the branch of the Golden Planet Project that is concerned with looking after the environment and reclaiming, recycling and regenerating furniture and goods.Our aim is to develop a brand that has green credentials and distinctive designs,Reclaim will also develop green projects that contribute to practices that benefit the planet and its inhabitant.Our aspirations are to have an on-line shop, a showroom and a market stall.

The Golden Planet Project Job roles will be supported by workers from Jigsaw Creative Care Limited, as will be workshops and events.
The Community Café aspires to be a dynamic environment where vulnerable people can socialize and take part in personal development activities designed around their specific needs. The Community Café will celebrate diversity and tailor its services and environments to accommodate this wherever possible.
The Golden Planet Project was set up to address gaps in employment and business opportunities for people with support needs predominantly those with a learning disability or condition such as autistic spectrum disorder. Setting up and developing a business is an excellent foundation for building and developing employment skills and experience. The Golden Planet Project recognizes that not all people can adapt to mainstream learning and employment environments and for this reason has developed their own. However, in order to fulfill their job roles people will have to learn and acquire professional skills and qualifications. This will be achieved through accessing mainstream learning environments or tailoring training to peoples specific needs where this is necessary.
